RBC rolls out Internet radio
Moscow, October 12, 2011 — RBC OJSC (MICEX, RTS: RBCM) hereby announces launching a new service on a popular information and entertainment portal Qip.ru - Radio.QIP (Radio.qip.ru). The Internet radio is designed to accommodate the wishes of over 34m users of the portal thanks to coverage and broadcasting via its stations of various musical styles.
Radio.QIP comprises about 10 exclusive radio stations, each targeting a specific group of listeners. For instance, radio station Univer was set up especially for the students, Tvidi - for children and teenagers, and also retro music radio station Gurman - for adults. As part of this project, RBC signed all necessary agreements to protect copyrights.
The list of radio channels will be expanded to include conventional radio stations. Several own radio stations will be launched before the end of this year, which will enable Radio.QIP to cover the whole range of music genres. The service will also be available in the QIP messenger and on mobile platforms in the future.
QIP.ru is a popular information and entertainment portal in the Russian-language segment of the internet. The content of the website attracts some 2m unique users per day and its monthly audience exceeds 34m users. In addition to QIP messenger, the leader in the Runet, the QIP.ru portal offers its users 34 themed services intended for various audiences.
