Media Mir broadens the capabilities of Internet messenger QIP
Moscow, September 9, 2010 — Today, Media Mir - RBC Group - announces the launch of the video and voice communication service in a new version of Internet messenger QIP.
As a result, a leading Internet messenger in Russia and the CIS will provide its users with brand new communication opportunities, such as voice and video calls, as well as an opportunity to call any landline or cellular phone worldwide at advantageous tariffs. These services are designed to increase substantially the messenger’s user base. Mango Telecom is the operator servicing the outgoing traffic on the public telephone network.
Multimedia capabilities of the messenger and traditional chat messages are provided free-of-charge, whereas IP telephony tariffs, offered by QIP, compare favorably to the cost of similar services of QIP's competitors. In addition, the new version of the messenger provides a billing per second service - a unique one on the Russian telecommunication market. As expected, it will allow to attract more users in the future.
Currently, money can be placed on QIP's account by using most electronic payment service providers, a credit/debit card, or with the help of the SMS payment system. By the end of 2010, Media Mir plans to connect the messenger to all of the most popular payment systems.
The next stage in the development of QIP's multimedia capabilities will include an opportunity for its users to purchase QIP telephone numbers and receive incoming calls from landline or cellular phones online.
