RBC TV begins new season in a new studio complex
Moscow, September 5, 2011. — RBC OJSC (MICEX, RTS: RBCM) hereby announces the launch of a new high-tech studio complex for the largest Russian business television channel RBC TV, which allows the channel to create brand new on-air content.
The latest technologies available to RBC TV have allowed the channel’s creative team to develop new high-quality content that complies with the world’s highest standards. By and large, the new broadcasting capabilities will be used to implement joint projects with the channel’s foreign partners. A month ago, RBC TV signed a cooperation agreement with one of the leading international business channels - Bloomberg TV, which has become RBC TV’s primary provider of business news and topical reports on foreign markets. RBC TV is also expanding its cooperation with CNN and other foreign partners.
Along with the launch of the new studio complex, RBC TV changes its information broadcasting. News blocks will now be longer and provide coverage of high technology, medicine and sports. During the fall and winter season, RBC TV will have new informational and analytical programs with the participation of new hosts.
The changes made to the channel in the run-up to the 2011-2012 season are the most sweeping in RBC TV’s history, since its launch in 2003. The company has invested nearly RUB 260m in the construction of the new studio complex, as well as its revamped broadcasting schedule. Thanks to the large investments, the first Russian business channel RBC TV now owns one of the most cutting-edge television studios in Russia.
RBC TV CJSC CEO Artyom Inutin commented: “The changes in the channel’s programming schedule would not have been possible without a major overhaul of the channel’s broadcasting facilities. We rely on the most up-to-date technologies, which is one of the major success factors for news and analytical television channels. I’m confident that the upcoming TV season will be met with the approval of our audience and help attract new viewers, thus strengthening further RBC TV’s position as the leading Russian business mass media.”
The new RBC TV studio complex has an area of nearly 2,000 sq. meters, and a height of 10 meters. The complex can be used for different types of programs, including live broadcasting and talk shows. The image dynamics is created by new generation lighting systems and remote camera cranes. The new studio also has one of the biggest video walls on Russian television.
Technically speaking, the infrastructure of the new studio complex is ready for broadcasting programs in high definition format (HD). However, the signal is still being transmitted in the standard format, as the Russian distribution network is not yet ready for HD broadcasts.
RBC TV is the first Russian business television channel, the leading and the largest business media in Russia. The channel was launched in 2003. Its major partners are Bloomberg TV and CNN. The channel’s Russian audience amounts to approximately 17 million people.
